Cop fired after waitress poses with rifle on car

3 other deputies suspended after photo session outside ‘flirty’ Texas eatery
Video

MIDLAND, Texas - A Texas sheriff fired one deputy and suspended three others without pay after a scantily dressed waitress holding a rifle posed for photographs on the hood of a patrol vehicle.

Police said Round Rock officers were dispatched to a restaurant after someone reported the waitress with the weapon, which had been given to her by one of the Midland County deputies who had been attending a training session near Austin.

The incident occurred last week in the parking lot of a Twin Peaks restaurant, which promotes its "fun, friendly and sometimes flirty atmosphere!"

The deputies told Midland County Sheriff Gary Painter that they had about three to five beers each.

A fifth deputy who remained inside the eatery got a letter of reprimand

We usually have our local bike night at Twin Peaks. I like it better than Hooters.

Not surprised he got fired over it, but don't agree with it.

Why don't you agree with it? It was a bonehead move and now he's paying the consequence. :idk:

Because I don't see any harm or abuse or power in it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not up in arms about him getting fired.

But why would an officer let someone else have thier weapon? I don't see it as an abuse of power but rather a retarded thing to do. :idk:

Because it made for a cool picture and he possibly wanted to get laid by the cute Twin Peaks waitress? Its not like he turned over his only weapon to a raging crackhead, it was just a quick photo op. No harm, no foul IMO.

The cop had 4 or 5 beers in him.

He shouldn't have been handling a gun in public let alone passing it around to wannabe Hooters girls in an attempt to score.

You're right. My bad, I missed the last part of the story since it was below the ad. He definitely should not have been in any way handling a fire arm after an admitted 3-5 beers that's probably more like 6-7 anyway.

The story should have read "Drunk cop handles firearm in public"

I woulda bent her over the hood of the squad car, banged her till her sockings slid off, then fired of 30 or so rounds as she climaxed and then given up to the Round Rock officers. If you think you'll get fired for it go all out!!!

They were actually from Midland but this happened in Round Rock, just North of Austin. This is actually less than a mile from where I work.

Cop let's a girl take a picture with his weapon, and he gets fired.

President gets a blowjob and lies about it? No prob!

I'd hate to see what you all think when we show kids our weapons and let them handle the 9mm, mp5, or shotgun.

Kell, are you against everything fun?

After 4-5 beers handling a gun becomes way more fun... I'd imagine handing a Hooter's girl would be more fun with 4-5 beers as well.

that was the part that I thought was out of place. He's in a squad car with guns and has 5 beers? Got what he deserved.

If he were without the beers and let her I would have no problem with it. As long as it's unloaded, big deal. I suppose the cop who let my son sit in the drivers seat of his squad should be fired to.

You guys are such a bunch of hypocrits. :lmao:

A hot girl can basically do anything she wants. But I guarantee if this had been someone arab looking, ugly female cop, kid wearing a trench coat, <insert anything other than hot girl here> and you guys would have been up in arms about it too.

I don't really care what they do....just find it kind of humourous to hear your responses about this stuff.

It wasn't smart....end of story.

From the original post I couldn't tell whether it was loaded or unloaded.

Loaded = he's a retard

unloaded = fine who cares...funny photo op

4-5 beers in = got what he deserved

Ooooh no....a woman being logical and having an opinion. That will get me nowhere fast on this site.

Come on, I see no problem with mixing beer, hot chicks and gun play. Shit, I would have taken pics too albeit not in front of the entire damn world to see. I would have been a little more private about my endeavors. 4-5 beers is nothing and and you could still have your wits about you... now, 8-10 is where you start to lose all rational.

Cops let kids hold their guns all the time. Unload, check to make sure the chamber is clear, and its no more dangerous than a small chunk of metal.

Its only a gun. People love guns. No harm, no foul.

The drinking on the job is the only idiotic thing I see.

The thing about this is... many depts allow the officer to take the cars home, so maybe he was just stopping on his way home.

Im pretty sure, in Canada at least, on or off duty, when your in uniform or a patrol car, you are held to the standards of a police officer.

I can't believe it took this long for someone to point out the obvious.

If anyone on here tried the same thing they'd be in jail.

It's ok though, they're cops. :wtfru:

4-5 beers over how long of a period? 2 hours? Yeah you'd be fine to drive home. The story doesn't doesn't specify how long they had been at the bar. Drinking casually amongst friends at a bar it's reasonable to say the 2-3 drinks an hour is a normal pace. So at 4-5 beers over 2 hours, you would still be sober. Especially if it was something like bud light or miller light. You can drink a 12 pack of that and still not get buzzed.

That is a very general statement. Body weight and tolerance play a big factor in how many drinks your body can handle.

The typical male body will process 1 drink per hour. Anything above that takes you away from sobriety. While you may not "feel it" or cross the legal limit, you are not sober.

If you can drink a 12-er of anything and not get buzzed then, I'd make sure you are covered for a future liver transplant.

What about the folks who aren't alcoholics or boozers?

Would it be alright for a light weight to take tax payer provided property\equipment and let anyone bang-able play around with it?

Many counties allow state employees (such as councilmen and police officers) to use state\county property (tax payer funded vehicles and all the expensive equipment added on to the upgraded Crown Victoria ) as transportation to and from work.... NOT for personal use.

LEO driving patrol cars and carrying their duty weapons shouldn't be drinking at a bar...period imho.

I'm not allowed to carry a/my concealed weapon if I have ANY alcohol in my system. :idk:

Alcohol can stay in your system for 6 or more hours. Five beers in a 2 hour period and the average person is going to be pushing .08 BAC hard. That's the legal limit in most places.
