but honestly... with a new(ish) rider... it's YOUR responsibility to make them understand what is considered bad etiquette... at least IMO

What he said, but also, perhaps consider riding behind her...that way if she pulls over you know about it.

Have you also explained WHY its such an issue?

If you tried all that and it was still an issue, give her a taste of her own behavior. Pull over and let her panic that you aren't back there.

What sucks about that is the amount of money I've already spent on J&M equipment...:panic:

Oh and she understands all right...

I would agree with this one.

Hopefully she'll never have to experience someone she cares about suddenly dropping out of view because they've crashed.

If she really wants to stop then some way of communicating such is in order.

Technology replaces common sense too much. Or, people try to make it replace common sense.

I would think some finer points need to be discussed between you two.

Uma said she wouldn't ever do that, she would have came up to me and waved about turning around... not just duck out of sight without telling me.

I got the J&M unit from Derf if you want it... never used it... looking at the Senna unit when I get back into everything in two years

I would have waited till she got on her bike, pushed her over and then I would have rode off. She might get the idea then.

Hey Billy Squire (stroke me, get it?)...you got the Int IV from me.... I looked at BT gear from them but it's expensive and not as effective as Sena or Scala. Right now, I'm trying to decide between the two.

Sena SMH10

http://www.senabluetooth.com/shop/shop.php#

Scala G4

http://www.cardosystems.com/us/scala...er-g4-powerset

I'm torn between the two because I respect Nick's opinion about the Sena BUT the Scala has a wired mic-much better for full face. The Sena offers this for another $40 ea. The Scala also claims a one mile working range vs the Sena's 1/2 mile. Plus the Scala includes a FM radio built in. I've already ordered BT dongles for my GPS and her radar detector... It's a tough call but I have some time to think. One good thing is that Ron Ayers carries the Scala, so I might try it out and if I don't like it I can return it no problem and buy the Sena.

FWIW anything similar from J&M would cost about $700 not including the $200 ea headsets that I already have!!!!!!!!:panic:

I have two headsets, so we would need two of these $200 ea,

I would need one of these just to get back to having my GPS(Garmin 855T) and radar detector(Valentine 1) hooked up. Basically, this replaces my current unit $300.

http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail....LU-DNG01&PF=30

She should be able to use a dongle for her radar detector (Escort Passport 8500) and her phone is BT. If I rewire my radar detector(V1) back to stock, I guess that I could also use dongles for it and my GPS but I would be VERY nervous!!! One positive aspect is that both the Scala and Sena units come with 3.5mm jacks that I could plug my V1 in to for added piece of mind.
