I'm going to guess that won't work either. ;)

its on the center stand now, but both wheels are still on the ground and the suspension is just slightly compressed, maybe 1/4 inch of sag while on the center stand.

I'm gonna swap out the side stand with the other guy and get some 1" thick blocks of rubber to mount on the bottom of the center stand.

Gas Man 09-10-2011 01:13 PM

I think I would worry about the rubber "feet" failing.

derf 09-10-2011 02:20 PM

If I bolt a block if solid hard rubber, like from a wheel chock straight to the bottom how can it fail?

Gas Man 09-10-2011 03:33 PM

peal from bolt, no rubber on one side, bike fall over go boom

Got the new kick stand on last night, it is brand spankin new, and the cleanest thing on that motorcycle. My kick stand worked perfectly for the other guy too.

Funny story: I did that BMW off road clinic a few weeks back. The guy that I swapped with was there with his wife, and we had a good 1/2 hour long conversation that day too. I roll up to his house and the first words out of his mouth were: I remember that bike.

Gas Man 09-11-2011 06:16 PM

Why would he remember that bike? As in stock height?

derf 09-11-2011 06:34 PM

The combination of mods done to it

Make sure to give the guy a nice reach around for swapping kicks stands. It would be rude if you didn't.
