  Funny story the you and your son will probably laugh about in years to come !!

Saltwater tanks are awesome to look at. The colors are so cool.

I have never owned any and have heard that they can be a pain to maintain.

actually the maintainance wasn't bad once you got it set up properly. it's like anything else the more you put in the more you get out. i ran with two different filters plus a protein skimmer, twin light tubes, quite a few water pumps etc. the cost would be more prohibitive to most folks rather the the work.
if you go low cost then it becomes much more work. Had a friend that a tank that was nearly 100% self sustaining. uber expensive though.

yeah we laugh about the story now and then, him more then me. LOL

So, actually, it's like "the more you put into it up front, the less you have to keep putting into it while you're paying off everything you put into it up front"

pretty much, i had a 55 gal and probably had a couple grand into it easily. after it was set up then it's just the salt water changes and filter media so not bad. but yeah the initial can be a surprise if you thought "oh cute fish and only $5 I should get him" :)

Just wait till winter...

And I will again make a suggestion... get a greyhound... super nice, calm, don't require allot of exercise... great with kids.

This one doesn't have a name...just hangs around in the bushes and yard. There are a couple of them so I'm not sure which 'one' this is.

Yeah I wouldn't want that shit in my yard... no way. Although I doubt you have to worry about mice that way either!

Our new addition to the family...C.C. (Ceiling Cat)! Our other cat is Basement Cat, so why not? LOL He came to us with a little infection in his left eye...doing MUCH better now, but it's hard to get a good pic cuz he's always running around playing...his mom was a stray that gave birth under my mom's trailer out back. This one was the only one that liked to be petted and was the runt of the litter. He's about 9 weeks old.

Nice. We have a celing calico and a basement calico and their personalities fit their names. it is fun watching them fight though.
