hello everyone. just started riding. like 4 days ago lol. just bought myself my first bike, a 2001 yamaha yzf-600.

i need a new rear tire. does anybody have any recommendations for me. only looking to spend at most 150. i obviously dont need a racing tire. just a quality tire, with great tread.

Rear tire size 160/60-ZR17. I dont think the ZR is a necessity, because the Z rating is a lower rating than most current tires. Someone else may need to back me up on that one, but I think that is correct.

Anything else will be too expensive, or are off brand. I always buy online, get the free shipping, and have a small shop put on for real cheap. Saves a ton from big dealer full pricing and labor prices....

What tire is on the front and how old is it? There's more to a tire than the tread depth. Make sure there aren't any cracks or dryrot on the front. You do NOT want a front tire blowout, especially if you've only been riding for a very short time. I'm also not a fan of mixing different tires front and rear, but some will say it's not a problem.
