2013 Kawaski zx-6r 636

Since Drewp didn't know this yet, there may still be others.... Yes Kwaka went back to the cheater 636 motor for 2013. Just sat on one a couple days ago. So small, up front. Felt like a Daytona 675 at the front.

Many are wondering if the new 636-powered ZX-6R as tested in the 2013 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R First Ride will be eligible in any road racing series next season. Here’s the skinny: We contact the folks at WERA and it has confirmed that the new bike will be allowed in its ‘C’ (600cc) as well as its ‘B’ (750cc) racing classes. As far as AMA Pro Road Racing is concerned, Technical Director Al Ludington revealed that as of this post, the new ZX-6R will NOT be allowed to compete in the Supersport or Daytona Sportbike classes. Now this could all change if the suits at Kawasaki reach out to the AMA and force the issue. Currently Team Green has no factory supported presence in that series and openly admits that it assembled the 636 for use on the street rather than racing.
So basically Team Green is saying "Fuck AMA" for right now....

After watching so many British reviews over the years, and having a few British friends that ride, I instinctually call it the Zed Ex Ten. I said Zee Ex Ten one time and they looked at me like I was retarded.

Wow, that's kinda BS allowing a 636 in WERA.

That's not really new. IRRC, the limit there was 650cc a number of years ago. Granted, the class was dominitaed by 599cc machines, but the 636 was always legal.

Good for them. Honestly, after that whole debacle with putting the Buell 1125R in the 600SS class, the AMA lost all credibility.

Exactly. It should be allowed in Daytona Sportbike, but not Supersport then.....

The only issue for kawi is if everyone allows 636, Yam will step up and blow their fucking heads off again. LOL

Kawi was going back to 600 by the time the new R6 was introduced anyway...

Seems like Kawi is putting all their eggs in the WSBK basket with the recent ZX-10 success....
