Discovery Build Off

OK. I know, I know the builders are usually just a bunch of drama-mongers that build nothing more than small ferris wheels that are too shiny. But, this build off, Jesse has built a bike that I would actually want to own...

Discovery Channel - really watch it.

I like a lot of the choppers that jesse james builds, just would never want a chopper as my only bike, plus I could never afford one.

I never saw their first build off when it was on but the bike that paul jr built and won with was absolutely hideous. I truly hope the judging makes more sense this time around.

Pic of the aforementioned pile of shit that won....

The public votes tomorrow night. I don't know if the crowd that usually follows this show will like what Jesse built. It's a gamble.

Watch. I'm willing to bet most of you here would vote for Jesse over the others this year.

Sixxxxer 12-09-2012 11:17 PM

Paul Jr's bike that won, And is pictured...While not practical...Actually had ALOT of detail go into it. And if you take away the fact that it's pretty much unrideable...It's pretty fucking cool. The wheels alone are awesome in there own right.

They just dont make anything practical.

It's definitely art, and I like it for that. But I don't think I'd want to ride it and that sort of defeats the purpose of having a nice motorcycle, doesn't it?

Sure, but that's not what it's about. It was built to be rolling art, not a daily driver... or anytime driver...

Somebody post up a pic of JJ's bike.

That's what I was about to ask as well...
Are there any pre-show pics of the bikes available or do we all have to wait for the reveal?

More like a rolling caricature or cartoon. I think it looks ridiculous, I'm not a fan.

Hmmmm.... well,

1. I hate Junior's bike. Period.

2. Jesse didn't finish in time I'm not sure it's as special as he thinks it is... Plus, does it even run? Not to mention his, "I don't give a shit" attitude. Why did you enter this stupid contest then? Sounds like sour grapes to me.

3. The GM bike is a real bobber but it seems that all they did was refurbish an existing bike.... The whole time slamming on the other builder's buying frames and motors. It is cool that they are riding to the contest though...

4. I can't stand senior but I think that his bike is the most engineered. I mean they really basically made everything from scratch.

The thing that struck me the most was how each one of them spent more time slamming on the others while they did the same things themselves.... It reminded me of when I was the doorman at a strip club. Listening to a bunch of bitches complain about the other girls....:boobs:

Trip 12-11-2012 08:47 AM

All these bikes are shit. I rather see a plain jane bike decked out to the hilt with awesome useful accessories.

This is just my opinion....but ANY biker build-off challenge should be judged and WON by who's bike would you likely actually BUY and ride. I.E. orders taken (IF you could afford it)

I'd rock the piss out of that bike Jesse built. Not because I'm some leg humping fan, but because I LOVE twins and I'd LOVE to have some kind of "Confederate" type sport/muscle bike.

I mean I absolutely LOVE the Ducati Diavel but I'd like to have something a little different.

THIS bike....is different...the kind of different I LIKE

But for ME...I'd rather have red instead of purple

Thanks for the pics, Troy.

I'd ride a bike like that in a heartbeat.

Leave it purple. Red is too Ducati-ish.

tommymac 12-11-2012 03:54 PM

That is prety cool, I would def rock something like that. jesse made soem off the wall stuff but always built his bikes to be ridden as opposed to the OOC bikes with a 1/2 gallon fuel capacity.

Trip 12-11-2012 03:56 PM

He tried to sell his GS build on ADV for like 40k. He got laughed off the board. It was a good time.

Porkchop 12-11-2012 05:35 PM

The cool thing about Jesse's is the frame and swingarm bolt directly to the transmission. Kinda Panigale-ish.

I like Paul Sr's this time. Built straight from a block of aluminum. Either way, what i thought was interesting was both of these guys moved away from their bread and butter "chopper" to a more sport oriented fighter. Even jesse said he likes going out to a track and getting a knee down or doing wheelies.

Sr's bike...

A bike [or insert anything really] is worth whatever someone ELSE is willing to pay for it regardless of what that person may have (not even) paid for it (DSC channel freebie)

You win some you lose some

Yeah and he went to a site where no one was willing to pay close to that idiotic price. Where people are educated about that type of bike beyond anywhere close to his knowledge. There was no someone ELSE at ADV. Which was awesome. You have to know your crowd and the ADV crowd won't put up with that bullshit. They won't suck his cock like a lot of other fanboy sites.

Very true. ADV and Pirate4x4 are both VERY hard core and very unbias as to who they show (lack of) mercy too. But then again, both of those sites are comprised of mostly 50+ yr old crusty bastards that are too old to HAVE fanboy mancrushes on anyone other than someone who can get a good nights sleep without having to get up and piss every 3 hours.

Bullshit.

I read the thread. There was plenty of mancrushing, dicksucking going on.

You are right, hell I even said they were sucking his cock. My memory is horrible

http://www.twowheelfix.com/archive/i...p?t-10964.html

Hell looking through the ADV thread, the mods removed all the bashing and just left the man crush bullshit. Gadget Boy made a new thread with the bashing and it's gone now.

I liked all of the bikes this go around... much more than the last one... The second I saw the bikes, I knew Paul Jr. would win... My beef with his bike - that fucking stupid red chain... I HATE colored chains... I think they look cheap.

Sr's bike is my fave... in order:

1. Sr.
2. Jr.
3. Jesse
4. Gas Monkey

Though, it's REAL close for all of them... very different, but I think they're all pretty cool. Jesse's had too much bling, but Gas Monkey's wasn't original enough.

That's not gas monkey's bike. The red one is Jesse's bike from the last build-off.

This is Gas Monkey...

That's funny.

I saw that red bike and instantly thought: That's my #2 choice after JJ's bike.

Apparently I'm a fanboy.

Discovery channel has thrown soem of their episodes on over the last few months. Unlike the OCC crap those guys bikes have to be ridden. Would love to se epaul jr ride one of his bikes with a1 gal fuel capacity the 4 or 500 miles these guys rode to the events.
