Did he really just add that to his bike? Why yes I did.
Check this out. I think this is pretty damn unique lol. I wish i could of added it to the June POTM Contest.
So i decided to add a 12V cigarette outlet to my bike to plug things into. Well i shopped on the internet for one and they all cost about 50 bucks.... so i went to Advance Auto Parts and bought all the pieces i would need.... Cigarette lighter, Fuses, Fused wire, extra Wiring and Connectors(male and female) and some electrical tape. For a grand total of $23 dollars with parts to spare. I suck at taking pictures of projects so yea bear with me lol. http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...10192948-1.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...2010192956.jpg Taking the ole back end off to get to the innards. http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...2010193011.jpghttp://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...2010193101.jpg Finished Installing the 12V hook up. http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...2010194319.jpg Try and guess what im doing... http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...2010194341.jpghttp://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...2010194334.jpg Yea Im playing the Game Cube lol. It was the first thing i thought of when thinking of what i could hook up to the 12V lol. I wish i could of added it to the POTM thread. Can i maybe have a late submission lol. |

One question how can i have my connections all hooked up to the battery without it killing the Battery? Will i need a junction box or an "on-off" switch that goes in between it or something?
|
Too bad this was too late for the pic of the month...

This is what I did. It all fits under my seat on the left side of the photo. There is a fused line from the battery to the relay switch which is turned on by a positive signal from the horn. From the relay power goes to the fuse block and each output (6 total) has its own fuse. the whole thing is basically a 2nd wire harness completely seperate from the bikes wire harness, the only connection is from the horn to turn the relay on.

I was doing some moto related electronics searching and stumbled on this. At $70 its a little pricey for a fuse block, but it has some neat options on it, like having a built in relay, and the ability to have each fuse be either switched or constant power

:lol Did you notice the capital letters when I was talking about Fuze Block in my earlier post? These are actually designed/sold by a friend of mine who put about 150k on his last ST 1300 before it had an incident... I don't know how many miles he has on his current ST, but that crazy cat rides anywhere and everywhere. They are pretty neat... and considering what they can do for you, they're worth the money if you're going to have multiple accessories that you need to run to multiple switches. It's probably not the best choice for a single accessory. :) |
What is that gamecube screen? Just out of curiosity.
