Keep it or Sell it?

Well, a dilemma faces me. Should I keep the DRZ or sell her? I'm not gonna have anytime to ride her while I'm in K-town and no place to ride it in KC. I would like to get a sportbike, but I just started the negotiations with the wife.

thoughts?

BobTheBiker 08-01-2008 11:08 PM

I dont know honestly. its really your decision in the end.

fatburg 08-01-2008 11:26 PM

Or his wife's apparently. :leaving:

fatburg 08-01-2008 11:39 PM

actually she says just to keep it. It's paid for, why not. And there is no way I can add a third bike to the stable. So the thought was sell the DRZ, get a 04-05 600 for a weekender.

Mrs. Colleen 08-02-2008 12:00 AM

How much is the DRZ worth?

I know nothing about dirt bikes. :idk:

Trip 08-02-2008 12:08 AM

ahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahaha

good luck with that one

Mr Lefty 08-02-2008 12:21 AM

I have modded it a lot for dirt, probably get between $2-3k. They are pretty popular.

Actually she gives in pretty easy when it comes to the buying part, it's having time to ride it. She was great about that back home, it's just out here the reigns have been pretty tight.

Well I was thinking about selling it before I moved and thought, hey, TN will have great riding. But I enjoy roads a ton too.

There would be so much I have to swap out. And if I was going to do that I would rather just get a sport bike.

Maybe once I find so good places to ride and others to enjoy it I'll change my thinking. But man having a 600rr or like in the garage for weekend fun would be great too

OneSickPsycho 08-03-2008 01:30 AM

Keep it and commute the balls off it...

Mr Lefty 08-03-2008 01:31 AM

maybe sell it to OSP

I'd be interested if it was motarded.

fatburg 08-03-2008 12:13 PM

already have a great commuter. Maybe I just need to go find some back roads

fatburg 08-04-2008 10:29 AM

uh oh, had a chance to ride a old jetski this weekend with the wife....ya, we get off and she's like, "if you sell your DRZ we can get one of these!"

that changes things

I hate jet skis. That's also because most of my water experience on them is on Lake of the Ozarks, where the minimum boat length is about 33 ft. Nobody on the damn things pay any attention, other than to the boat they are crossing the wake of 35 feet from it.

At 1:40 he talks about waverunners.

thats the best way, winterizing and dewinterizing and just various maintenance is a pain in the ass. Plus they get old quick when you actually own one.

fatburg 08-04-2008 11:05 AM

I'll buy that point. So I'm back to my original problem and have to try to convince her I need something different. I haven't even had the DRZ a year yet.

fatburg 08-07-2008 09:43 PM

well after a brief discussion, she says I'm not buying a new bike right now...sooooo, I'm keeping the DRZ and moddin the @#$#@ out of the FZ :dthumb:

Ordered up my stainless lines, pads and quick bleeders today. Then I'll probably put on rearsets, new levers and maybe some exhaust. Tho I have to figure out which exhaust will work with the grill. Time to move this discussion to aftermarket mods.

nice, now we need to get you out there riding the real twisties. One saturday you can be gone all day, drewpy needs to come out and we can make the trip to Franklin.

sounds like a plan. I know I have a 3 day weekend after we get back from Indy where Leigh will still be in KC.

We are in NC this weekend, megatron's birthday is the next weekend, then my folks in town the next weekend so might be tough for a little bit.
