June 2011 POTM!

Alright you rabid animals...Pic Of The Month is BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!

You hounds have demanded it and the management team here at the luxurious TWFix Resort have heard your pleas. We are here to serve YOU, friends!

Now...by now you SHOULD know how this works. But for the slower individuals...here are the rules:

1. Picture must be motorcycle related.
2. Picture must be taken by YOU or have YOU in it.
3. Picture must be taken during the current month (May 2011)
4. Limit one entry per person per month.

Entries accepted until or about MONDAY MAY 30, 2011. That gives you the holiday weekend to cause a ruckus and capture it with a camera.

Prizes: There is no prize, noob. You'll be on the front page of the prestigious TWO WHEEL FIX.COM

 :urgay:

It was either that one, or "Duck, duck, no goose."

First one is better, nice shot Papa!

Papa_Complex 05-10-2011 08:21 AM

I've got plenty more where it came from, now that the racing season has started again :)

Till I get a picture of me rolling from my bud Caveman... this will do. From my NE Lobster run this past weekend. Taken on the Kancamagus (Route 112) thru the White Mountains.

I'm jealous....I've done that route many times. It's gorgeous in that part of the State...more so when you get off the beaten trail and go hiking. :rockwoot:

Gas Man 05-12-2011 12:13 AM

Oh it was amazing.. check out my thread for more pics.

Please tell me her last name is Doucher? :lol

Papa_Complex 05-12-2011 03:09 PM

"Boucher"

bouche = mouth

fasternyou929 05-12-2011 03:27 PM

Didn't even consider that.

I liked my version better. Change the B do a D, see how long it takes her to notice. :D

Papa_Complex 05-12-2011 04:31 PM

She's a nice kid, so I wouldn't want to do that.

Besides, she'd beat me up

I'm really trying to find a downside to this, but keep coming up empty.

Well, this looked better in real life. I think it was just too bright and it washed out the colors in the stone.

Oh well. My humble entry.

Heather, do you have any photo editing software? Was that taken with a camera that gives you a RAW file to work with? You'd probably be happier with the colours if you dropped the exposure by 0.3 or 0.7 stops, then pushed the contrast by maybe 10%. The bike will come out darker, maybe losing a little body detail, but the colours in the stone should come out.

*EDIT* I copied what you posted, did a quick 'curves' on it, then dropped the brightness by 10% and it looks pretty good. I could post it for ya, if you like ;)

Ooooohh...I like it! Thanks! :dthumb:

I took the picture with my cell phone. I do not have any photo editing software. I tried to play around with it in photobucket but that just seemed to have a bunch of random effects you could add.

Picasa is good for some really, really basic tuning/resizing, and it's free.

Corel Paint Shop Pro is what I used, it's dirt cheap, and they have a 30 day demo version that you can download for free. It'll do everything that you'll likely ever need ;)

Hey, isn't there supposed to be a vote or suthin'?

derf 06-02-2011 09:05 AM

No this place is an Anacharistic Kleptocracy. A little corruption thrown in with the absence of organized law.
