MotoGP Laguna Seca 07/25/10 *SPOILER THREAD*
wOOt!!!...One of two GP races on American soil :)
So let's discuss...This should be one of the more interesting races this year... --I think Rossi will be the favorite...He's the only one who knows how to ride in the dirt at this track :D --Spies will get a few upgrades, but will it be enough to get him back on the podium? --Hayden has only 3 wins in his GP career...But one of them was here...Can he finally win another? --Lorenzo clearly knows how important every point is...Will he push it? --Pedro is playing catch up in points...I think he's a strong candidate for a "W" --Dovizioso has been close to win a few times this season, can he finally do it? --Stoner is a good set of tires short of a few "W"'s --Roger Lee Hayden is supposed to be on DePuniet's bike Your thoughts? http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/5...aracetrack.jpg |

Fuck Speed and their commercials and gimp ass announcers. I'll be watching live on MotoGP.com on a high resolution subscription with announcers who actually know what the fuck is going on.
My prediction: 1) Rossi 2) Pedrosa 3) Dovi |
1) Lorenzo
2) Rossi 3) Pedrosa 16) Roger Lee Hayden |

Stoner Rossi |
Spies on the podium. :whatwhat:
Ok top 5. Lorenzo and Rossi top two. |
Lorenzo
Rossi Spies (a guy can hope can't he) Can't wait to watch, wish Moto 2 was racing there to see 40+ bikes rolling down the corkscrew. Would be an awesome site. |

There are some kick ass up and coming riders too. Andrea Iannone in particular looks good. How he manages to run off and leave the rest of the field on a spec bike is beyond me. Nick Harris and Gavin Emmit were talking about it last week at Sachenring...I guess techincal control gives his bike a work over after every race and it's legit...but it sure LOOKS odd....Juilian Simon...Thomas Luthi...Simon Corsi all look like they have MotoGP futures eventually too. 40 bikes on track at Laguna Seca, though....damn...that would be MADNESS. |
I wish I were going :(

40+ bikes at Laguna would be a mad house. Many would fall at turn 1 at the races start. Was suppose to go to Indy this yr to watch but so many plans got changed we couldn't do it. Maybe next yr it will happen. |

Just done watching FP1 on MotoGP.com and watching all the pre practice and post practice interviews.
Stoner was FAST from the get go...Lorenzo started picking up the pace about mid session. I guess the "secret parts" promised to Tech 3 Yamaha either didn't come or suck. Spies and Edwards are both PISSED about it. The Suzuki's SUCK in the cooler temperatures....they are going to REALLY suffer tomorrow morning in FP2 in the morning mist and chill. Rossi says he's good to go except for braking while entering the Corkscrew...and at the bottom of the Corkscrew attempting to make the right hand turn before the Rainey Corner. I suspect he'll gut it out and be on the pace. Nick Harris and Gavin Emmit say that DePuniet is going to race at Brno....THAT would be incredible. I saw a pic of Bautista's bike running over his left leg...not good. That is the same ankle that has a small hardware store worth of screws in the ankle too after a big Motocross wreck. |
See Roger Hayden is 17th not 16th... ;)
|
Just done watching FP2....Lorenzo looked good. Stoner too. And Ben Spies...wow...that kid looks to have a REAL MotoGP future ahead of him.

Other than Rossi running Dovi down late in the race for 3rd...and then fending off Dovi's counter attack, that was a wicked boring race week-end. :/
Further evidence of how much more exciting the Moto2 class is than MotoGP. It's sad to admit...but...it's true. |

I like how the commentators tried make it interesting and especially how hard they worked to make Roger Hayden look good. "Roger managed to finish in 11th place!!! " ummm...there were only 12 finishers... Heck, I could have finished in the points on my gf's gsxr 600... |
