Approx how much more time for your riding season?

Here I typically will continue to ride during the winter months, we tend to have days in Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb that are nice and warm enough to get out for extended periods. Last winter there was not a week that I recall not getting out for at least a short blast on the bike.

Dave 10-13-2009 08:29 PM

at least till the roads ice over

Yup, I'll usually keep the bike parked for a while after a snow, you never know where they put sand down. Generally I ride all year round.

racedoll 10-13-2009 08:50 PM

Hard to say. I definitely won't ride after the first snow flies. I don't want the salt on my bike. Today could have very well been my last ride, then again, maybe not...I hope not.

Ninjakel 10-13-2009 08:58 PM

Year round......but its all straight flat boring roads

azoomm 10-13-2009 09:13 PM

I'd say we have until about next February  with some intermittent weather scattered here and there surrounded by 85degree days.

TYEster 10-13-2009 09:18 PM

After today... 364 more days.

Homeslice 10-13-2009 09:22 PM

Here it's pretty much year-round, but in the morning there's fog almost half the year

karl_1052 10-14-2009 09:41 AM

-2C today, but with all the rain we got lately, I drove the car. don't want to hit ice patches.

yep, I try to make it into Dec but once they start throwing salt out then I put her to bed for awhile.

Trip 10-14-2009 02:29 PM

I try to ride throughout, but I usually give up in january and wait til it warms up. As long as the roads aren't shit, I try to take my christmas eve jaunt to the gap.

wildchild 10-14-2009 02:37 PM

i rode all year one year up here. yeah wet leaves suck and icy driveways are even worse. lol it was one to remember though.

CasterTroy 10-14-2009 02:43 PM

I ride each bike at least once a week year round

RARELY does it get below freezing for more than 5 days in a row

Mrs. Colleen 10-14-2009 03:06 PM

We generally ride year round...but it is suppose to be a very wet year so we will see about this year. :td:

The mornings get really cold but once we get passed the ocean it warms up a bit.

tommymac 10-14-2009 03:10 PM

I always hop eto get in at least one day each month in the colde rmonths but last year I put the bike up in nov and it sat till april :( Looking at some slightly nasty weather today and this weekend but next week its going ot creep back up to the 60's

Ducati Diva 10-14-2009 03:11 PM

We try to ride all year but usually about Jan we're lucky if we get out a couple days a month. Just depends on the weather. New Years Day unless it ices is a def! Who knows though it's suppost to snow here Friday:td::td::td:

theyre just saying rain here, would be funny if NC got snow before NY did. I just hope it stays warm enough here so they dont sand/salt the frekin roads.

CrazyKell 10-14-2009 03:15 PM

My season is done now and the bike is in storage. Last 2 track days were this past weekend.

Bike will emerge from hibernation in April.

Tmall 10-14-2009 04:25 PM

I'm pretty much done also. Actually thinking about winterizing it this weekend.

I am hoping to squeeze out 2 more months but we will see. I do need a few weeks of bad weather though so I can replace my fork springs and rear shock.

Halloween is usually when mine goes down for the count. Last year I stretched that out to Nov. 15th but I dont think it's going to be possible this year.

derf 10-14-2009 05:08 PM

All of you really are a bunch of pansies. I'll be the first to admit I dont do too much riding in the winter but damn, already putting it away? (CrazyKell get a pass on this once cuz shes a girl and from canuckville).

It was 38 degrees today, and it's supposed to snow.

Kell lives in the most southern part of canada. The rest of us actually experience the COLD. Not just the cold.

And would you look at that! The forecast for NJ says it's warmer at 4am for you by about 20 degrees than it is for me at noon. :lol

SteveP 10-14-2009 05:34 PM

I'll ride as long as I still live here.

CrazyKell 10-14-2009 07:40 PM

Hey now! I don't have a garage so riding late in the season isn't practical since my bike has to sit outside!

But ya...I'm a huge wimp when it comes to the cold. I have heated grips on all year.

Rangerscott 10-14-2009 10:14 PM

Year round for me. I don't ride with its sleeting or snowing. If you think we turded people drive crazy when the road is dry, you should see them in snow. :tremble:

z06boy 10-15-2009 10:53 AM

10 months out of the year are pretty much no problem. January and February are the coldest months and there are still usually some days in those months to ride as well.

You are welcome to come ride here anytime between November 1 and March 1. I will even put you up for the night.

Money, where is that mouth?

Tmall 10-15-2009 11:10 AM

Oh snap!

Since the offer is on the table, you can come and ride the roads near the ocean here, they were iced over this morning. Couple cars left the road. My treat!

Mr Lefty 10-15-2009 01:04 PM

About 40 more months
