Blond Moments

Whats your blond moment? Reason I ask is for no good reason I nearly dropped my bike today while trying to put down the right side kickstand

NONE_too_SOFT 06-15-2010 06:10 PM

thats just straight up fucking retarded.

Particle Man 06-15-2010 06:22 PM

doesn't "blonde" have an "e" at the end of it?

Only if you're referring to a female. Or was that the attempted joke?

Once I started it while it was in gear, pulled the clutch in to start then let it out right after. Bike lurched forward and tipped over. Doh.

That's the best I got. The rest of my "blond moments" happen at the track.

This falls under "things you dont want to tell your fellow TWF'ers"...

Porkchop 06-15-2010 08:21 PM

It was actually very recent. I have been used to riding my R6 and other sportbikes with single sided exhausts. The second day I had my VF, I came in from a ride and threw down the kickstand. When I put my left foot down, I leaned the bike to the left and bent down to look at the right side of the motor, forgetting that the VF has dual exhausts that exit about calf level. As I leaned farther, the can pressed right into the the inside of my leg. It cooked my skin about the size of 2 golf balls. It has been 3 weeks now and it is just starting to lose color and soften back up.... :bash::bash::bash:

Just the other day, I couldn't remember if I had to shift up or down for the next gear. I actually had to think about it for a few second before I took my chances with up..

ha first thing i noticed when looking at this was "god damn im so happy i changed my stock grips today". aparently honda doesnt care about variety in their grips.

Cut those bitches off and you wont worry about that dent anymore.

I dropped my Zuk twice within 2 minutes while cleaning it in my driveway. Once on each side. I was beyond pissed at that point.

nhgunnut 06-16-2010 09:57 AM

My most recent "Moron" moment came when after having to change the aftermarket fuel pump on my Turbo bike, and it still acted like is wasn't maintaining fuels pressure. I began pricing everything it would take to replace the delivery system then after 3 days of worrying in dawned on me I hadn't run checked the lines. Sure enough as I was swapping fuel pumps I had kink the pick up line.

I've had this happen a few times as well. Fortunately it has never happened when riding hard (close to redline) though.

How'd you manage to do that?

Not sure but I remember throwing stuff.

the chi 06-16-2010 01:06 PM

I've almost done it. Dropped my old RR on top of me on one side, got so mad when I got her off the ground I almost tossed her onto the other side. Managed to save it, but probably only out of sheer pissed offedness.

wildchild 06-16-2010 01:26 PM

slightly older one but took off with the side stand down. (back when you could do that) nearly shit myself when I tried for a left turn and bike was jumping all over the place. Had to stop for a moment and regroup. LOL

KSGregman 06-16-2010 01:32 PM

Ugh...we've all had our "not so glorious moments" while riding....so....I'll share.

I was at a red light....in neutral....light turned green...grabbed the clutch....eased it out to the friction point...applied some throttle...got the nice V Twin roar through my Vance and Hines Big Shots....and....didn't move....forgot to put the bike in gear.
