Thats something you only take out to bike nights to show off. i would be too afraid of crashing it if I was railing on it or rode it quite often.

What, that it's a great bike that would be a blast to ride? No shit, why post the obvious? Be original.

Cannot register it in California.

Saw a really clean Gamma a week or two ago in Austin. Sweet bikes!

defector 04-12-2011 01:45 PM

Holy hell. Wonder if he would trade that bike for my wife for a weekend?

93hp, 340lbs, ugly body, ugly paint.. Yeah it's a two stroke, but whats the big deal?

Avatard 04-12-2011 04:21 PM

If you have to ask, you wouldn't get it.

No it's not about that..

I guess I just don't understand the fact of buying something because of it's history. Like all those cars on Mecum auto that go for far more just because they won a few races or had this original trim or whatever else besides the car/bike itself dictating the price.

Old cars I can understand a bit because they look sexy and while not able to perform at all, I could see why they would cost a bit, but this thing is ugly.

That 93 is pessimistic. Good set of chambers and you might as well stick wings on it. 340 is light as fuck btw

Depends on by how much, because even if you give it 20 hp.. 600's would still beat it today.

Avatard 04-12-2011 05:09 PM

Zactly. It's about the feeling you get with it, not its numerical performance characteristics. It's the EXPERIENCE that counts in the end.

No 600 could be as fun as this looks

Avatard 04-12-2011 05:28 PM

Love it. That thing has serious anger issues above 5 grand.

Homeslice 04-12-2011 06:26 PM

What's the reserve price? You could buy a street-legal 400 for only $3-4K

defector 04-12-2011 06:30 PM

Every chance I get to toss a leg over a 'smoker, I jump at it. I still get goosebumps.

Unfortunatly pop sold it shortly after getting out of the Navy and the guy he sold it to let his son take it out one night. That kid ende up wrapping it around a tree at 100+ mph :(

Sometimes you get it....sometimes you don't

I fully agree with you here.. is the 427 really that slow? thought that thing made around 500hp.. And the it looks way better than a new mustang..

IDK.. I guess I just don't like the styling of older sportbikes.. but it does sound pretty cool with the revs that high and come to think of it, i still get a kick out of the "peaky" hp of my 600.. couldn't imagine what the rg500 feels like.. haha.

To each their own I guess.
