Ohlins or Race Tech?

GSXR-1000 Fork Rebuild

Which would you prefer and why?

I gots no 'sperience with the drop in Ohlins stuff but I have done some racetech and they are pretty damn good. I am sure your not going to give up much one over the other, so it would come down to price and convenience I think...

Racetech if you're on a budget.

Ohlins if you're not.

From what I understand the RT rebound piston is the same as stock. So I would need to replace it.

I've got RT springs on my Kawi...they work well for me. I'll do the valve kit eventually.

RT, Ohlins, Penske, Traxxion can all work great.

I can also revalve stock valves on most forks to work great too. RT rebound piston may be close to stock, just like some of the others, but it is the valving that matters the most.

Yup. I have heard people that tried RaceTech and liked them, then they tried Ohlins and loved it more. It's one of those things that you don't know how bad you need it until you've tried it. I'm holding off for Ohlins myself.

RaceTech and Ohlins valves are about the same price IIRC... the ohlins kit comes with both rebound and compression... you have to buy two kits from racetech to get both I think and the pricing comes out similarly.

I might be wrong though.

Ohlins
