Teknic Sport Leather pants

These suckers are on sale at Newenough.com for $179. That is an OUTSTANDING price for these pants. They are a step up from the standard Chicane leathers.

thanks.

marko138 03-25-2008 09:33 AM

bumpski for anyone looking for a killer deal.

Rider 03-25-2008 09:41 AM

I sent my Chicanes back that I got a couple of days ago and ordered these instead.

marko138 03-25-2008 09:42 AM

Thats a good choice. I'd really like to get a pair of these.

Mr Lefty 03-25-2008 09:50 AM

just ordered a set... I'm normally a 33 though... I ordered the 32's... I think they should fit... but who knows

marko138 03-25-2008 09:51 AM

I'd like a pair of 32s. I'm normally a 34 jeans....a 32 would be tight but they'd break in real nice.

Mr Lefty 03-25-2008 09:56 AM

I wear 34's if I can't find 33's... I was think'n the same thing... the 32's would break in perfect. wy don't you get some then...

marko138 03-25-2008 09:57 AM

Because the 34's dont fit me bad. They are close. And I'm low on cash. Although I could probly recoup most of it on the re sale of the chicane's.

Mr Lefty 03-25-2008 10:01 AM

... sorry bro... to late... they only have 38's... so tell your wife to get back in the kitchen and make you a couple steaks!

marko138 03-25-2008 10:02 AM

Oh well...I'm still spying ebay.

Mr Lefty 03-25-2008 10:03 AM

thanks though for the heads up!

marko138 03-25-2008 10:03 AM

Spy ebay....they can be had for a solid price on there as well. I looked yesterday.

Mr Lefty 03-25-2008 10:06 AM

no need... I've got a set on the way... but if they don't fit right... I'll check it out

marko138 03-25-2008 10:07 AM

Werd. Good deal. Find a good tailor to hawk that zipper in correctly.

Mr Lefty 03-25-2008 10:12 AM

yeah I will... just gotta get my parents to send me my jacket so I can make sure it'll matchup...

marko138 03-25-2008 10:13 AM

I had my boy Giovanni hook me up.

Cutty72 03-25-2008 09:00 PM

Anybody got some good suggestions on overpants?
I'd like something to wear over my dress pants when commuting to work, it would be easier than changing twice a day.

Mr Lefty 03-26-2008 02:57 AM

I have the A* street cargo's... I've warn them over jeans a lot... actually I prefer to wear them over jeans... extra protection I'm think'n...

marko138 03-26-2008 08:38 AM

Joe Rocket makes some decent overpants that aren't terribly expensive. Atomic is the model.

marko138 03-26-2008 01:59 PM

Might get a pair myself for the commute mcgillicutty.

What size jacket do you wear? I tried on a 46 and it seemed to fit pretty good.

marko138 03-27-2008 07:49 AM

I think my jacket is either a 42 or a 44.

I'll go look.

Rider 03-27-2008 07:52 AM

Broken record?

marko138 03-27-2008 07:54 AM

Sorry internetz got jacked and I kept hitting the post button....

It's a 44.

Rider 03-27-2008 08:00 AM

Yeah the 46 fit good in the shoulders but the sleeves were just a pinch long. Your pants and jacket zip together right?

marko138 03-27-2008 08:04 AM

They do. But I did have to have the full length zipper sewn into the jacket. Cost me 50 bucks from my boy Giovanni the Tailor.

I believe all the 07 and 08 Teknic jackets have teh zipper already in them. Mine had the 8 inch zipper in the jacket but not the full circumference.

Where on the jacket did you mount the zipper? How do you get the placement right?

marko138 03-27-2008 12:44 PM

Holmes was a professional. He took measurements. And sewed that sucker where it needed to be. He was dead on accurate.

ceo012384 03-28-2008 11:58 AM

They aren't in my size, but that is a killer price.

No thanks, my ass if for exit only, but I'm flattered by the offer.

On a serious note, the sliders on these pants, are these the ones that wear out quick?

No, those come with the speedstar pucks, which are the ones I recently bought to replace the shitty ones.

Mr Lefty 04-01-2008 09:22 AM

got mine today... DAMN they fit fuck'n PERFECT! just slightly tight... (espeically in the calves) but they'll stretch a bit...

don't worry I'll save you guys the pain of pictures

that high waist is something I'm gonna have to get used to though

just need to get my Jacket sent out so I can get them to Zip together:rockwoot:

marko138 04-01-2008 09:28 AM

Nice dude.

You'll get used to the waist. The zipper is down a bit, and the zippers on the jackets isn't at the bottom of the jacket, it's up near the waist. Fit will be mint.

Mr Lefty 04-08-2008 01:04 AM

yeah my jacket is on it's way right now... and yeah I'm gonna like the fit... I can tell just gonna have to get used to it

At first when I put on my chicanes I was like what the fuck is up with this 1950's waist shit!?

But then when I saw how it all went together 2-piece and where all the zips were, it all made sense.

marko138 04-08-2008 04:11 PM

Newenough has these pants back in stock. Grab them now if you wanted a pair last week.

ceo012384 04-10-2008 11:24 PM

It's hard to tell from photos HOW they are different from the Chicanes besides coming with the better pucks. Not that it's a bad price, but I'd have to see a large benefit to get a second pair of pants.

I want a custom 1piece next.

Mr Lefty 04-10-2008 11:47 PM

I can give ya some better photos if ya want... I'll take some tonight

Well the photos on newenough are pretty decent. I just am not sure exactly what the differences are besides the pucks. Maybe some more/better pics would show it though.

Mr Lefty 04-10-2008 11:56 PM

yeah I don't know how yours look up close... but I'll take some good close up photos for ya...

From the website photos it just looks like the sports have a larger area of stretch/breathe material in the crotch. :idk:

From what I read, the armor is shaped better.. Looks like it protects a bigger area too..

Mr Lefty 04-11-2008 12:17 AM

humm... well I'll pull out all the armor and take pics as well... they felt as though they had plastic shells with foam backing... :idk:

Rider 04-11-2008 08:10 AM

These pants run true to size. So whatever you wear in jeans, get the same size in these pants.

Better armour and better quality leather on the Sports.

ceo012384 04-11-2008 07:58 PM

Thanks for the pics Ebbs.

Looks to me like less seams, better armor, a little more stretch/breathe material, and better pucks.

The armor and pucks can easily be bought for pretty cheap.

I'm not going to bite because my 2piece will eventually become my street suit and I will have a custom 1piece for the track. No reason to upgrade the chicanes then. Sports look real nice though.
