Waterproof Spray Recommendations?
Hey guys! Hope this finds you all happy and still riding.
I'm looking for some type of spray for waterproofing MC gloves. I see several options out there, but I am looking for some first hand knowledge of some good stuff. |
I've used Nikwax before with success...
Also Hydrophobic Spray seems to be pretty popular...Rustolem has a "Never Wet" Spray that has gotten rave reviews. No first hand experience on the Never wet stuff. This is the Nikwax I used on a pair of gloves. http://www.nikwax-usa.com/cmsdata/Pr...1_53_en-us.jpg You can find it at LLBean, REI, Places like that |
Thanks. Cyclegear also sells it, but I am leery of buying anything I can't find lots of reviews on. The sponge applicator seemed to be a big issue for the nikwax, did you have any problems And was it really effective?
|
It worked better than I expected...The sponge applicator was a little odd at first...But I made it work...Lol
I didnt get them SOAKED...but they repelled a light rain well. For the 08' Rally Where me and tommy rode down to Suches, I had bought a Nikwax spray...used it for my Visor...but it was "All purpose" That stuff was great! From what I hear the Hydrophobic spray is supposed to be like...The best thing since sliced bread! |

Thanks guys, I'll give it a shot when my new gloves come in.

I've been wanting to try the Neverwet but, haven't had any spare money to buy any. It looks like it would be good stuff! I want to treat my boots before my Route 66 trip in June!
|
Yeah I am actually gathering up gear for a crosscountry trip I am planning for this April/May time frame. Found some gloves I think will be great all season, and of course I cant get the waterproof version so i figured I'd look into Spray.
Route 66 sounds awesome, you going solo or with a group? |
