Rolling hills, some curves, but not what I would call twisties. Track close by with a decent group running it. Trackaddix is the company

Well after my big wreck I don't mind just cruising along with an occasional bend here and there. Dunno if I'll find the balls to track the new bike.

My best friend is stationed at Offutt AFB, so I go up there several times a year to hang out with him.

There is a nice little stretch of road, about 10-12 miles long north of Glenwood, Iowa just on the east side of the river from Omaha. It's a fun ride. Not long, but in the middle of the flatlands you take what you can get.

DLIT 05-29-2013 08:13 AM

Sounds like I'll hafta check it out.

jtemple 05-29-2013 07:55 PM

I'm here. I can show you around. No tight twisties, but it's not all bad.

I might have a gpx file handy with tracks on the good roads.

Is that a picture of the Sandhills?

jtemple 06-24-2013 06:46 AM

Maybe, not totally sure. I haven't been there in a few years, so it kind of caught be by surprise.

I'll get the mark off my GPS later and find out exactly where it is. Somewhere between Blair and Omaha.

It was pretty windy (30mph or so) and there was sand blowing everywhere. I'm surprised there wasn't a big drift across the road.

Here it is:

It's no Dragon, but it's not all that bad.

The only way you're getting rid of chicken strips around here is at the track.

DLIT 06-25-2013 11:08 AM

BUT!...the Dragon is a lot closer to Omaha than Vegas! Just bought a nice little 5x8 enclosed trailer to haul the bike in. Road trip!

jtemple 06-25-2013 08:30 PM

There are some good points about being here:

1. You're halfway to everything that's interesting
2. Very little police presence out of town
3. Cheap living
4. Not much traffic
