Who's Going to the Indy MotoGP?
 

Ok... now that we've got a new forum and several new people that I don't know... I figured we'd bring this up...

So who's going? if your going... where ya sitting? where ya stay'n?

I've got rooms reserved at the Knights Inn... about 10 miles from the track...

Trip, Drewpy, NtS, Rae are also going and each have a room reserved... OSP, Cutty and his girl, Ceo(when he joins), Ambly all have first dibs on a spot in a room if they're coming...

but to be honest... I'm not above filling up the fucking rooms... if it gets more people there... by all means...

anyways...

if things go smooth... I may be able to get some TwoWheelFix.com shirts and shit for us... :dthumb:

7 hours from KC, 5.5 from Knoxville...hmmmm, might have just found my second trip for the year. Although I'm not sure the MotoGP crowd is quite ready for the trunk effect.

It's gonna be cool seeing the GP bikes on the birms of that track. Unlike any other round. Looks technical. Any other pics of the actual track and not a computer-generated one?

Ebbs, you said in the PM you guys are in Stand B, general admission. I see there are many different levels of tix, all are for a 3 day pass. One is Stand B&E for 78 pounds (don't have the symbol on my comp for pounds), another is for 60 pounds. (For those not in the know, the pound is worth 2 dollars. Multiply the above numbers by 2 to get US$ prices.) So, which tix did you get. I want to make sure I get in the same area as you guys. And put me on the list. I'll sleep on the floor if that is what is available. ;)

edit: I was looking on the motogp website at tix. Looks like they might be a bit cheaper if you get them through www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com but the stands are reserved seating. General admission gets you on the grass mounds. I just called the ticket agency Trip gave me... it was $124 or so for 2 tickets and 2 motorcycle passes... (maybe it was $140 something)

I'm in stand B row S seats 14-15

Trip's tickets are Stand B row Z seats like 1-4 or so...

we're right at the end of the straightaway overlooking T1-4

oh and I got the 3 day passes...

Cool. Looks like everything I'm seeing is a 3 day pass, which is fine by me. Since I don't have a bike, I doubt I'll get the MC pass. With my luck, I won't buy the pass, but I'll end getting a good job and have the cash to buy one this summer, but won't have the MC pass... :lol:

I'll be in Tower Terrace right in the middle of the straightaway, Section 79 row MM, I got the 3 day pit pass and parking pass combo.

Which knights inn are you guys booked at? the one at 7101 East 21 St. or the one at 4909 Knights Way?

I don't remember... I can't get into my personal e-mail... I just know it's like 10-15miles from the track... it was like 39 a night... (600 or so for 4 rooms for 4 nights)

10-15 miles is a long fuckin walk. We better come up with a different plan. Somebody get me the damn job I want and I'll have a bike to ride!!

There are these things... They're pretty cool... You call a number and someone comes and picks you up... They're called taxicabs... I am sure Indianapolis has them.

so is everyone getting grand stand seats, no one just out in general admin? I'm thinking of comin but not sure I really want to ride 7 hours over and sit by myself all weekend. Maybe I can talk my wife into flyin out and meetin me.

You are correct, sir. And they are oh so easy to get on race day near the track. Kind of like New Years Eve when everybody wants to call it a night and go home. :lol: Indianapolis doesn't have near the number of cabs that other large cities have...

I think Rae and I are gonna ride up Wed to your place and ride on to Indy on Thursday... I would like to see the two days of practice too... and I've got the rooms from Thursday night through Monday morning...

All things considered, it's probably not way out of the way... From where Rae is to Indy is pretty much a straight shot north correct?

Yeah pretty much... I'm planning on arriving on either monday night or tuesday... (depends on how things go getting my bike ready) leaving Wed morning... we could do a short jog over to somewhere more "in your way" if need be...

the question was more do you wanna go up a day earlier than I think Trip and Dewpy are planning... (I think they were gonna arrive friday night)

As of right now that is the plan. It depends on what vacation time I have left if I can leave thursday. I have to save a week for the honeymoon and some for the holidays, but if I can manage I want thursday as well.

Yeah like I said I've got the rooms... and a 3 day pass... so I'd like to see all three days... especially since it's all a limited time thing for me...

I can't decide if I want to come up or not. The only thing pushing me away from it is that i'm not 21 yet so i couldn't go party at the bars and whatnot. Me and a friend were talkiing about riding up.

Do you plan on going to bars most of the nights or not? And most of my drinking comes from drinking games. If I just sit down and drink I drunk off less.

for me drinking is spontaneous. it can happen in the back of a flatbed truck, in a tent in the woods, and while swimming in a lake... all in the same night.
