deals gap

Homeslice 09-04-2009 11:16 AM

Except I would recommend checking out Blue Ridge Parkway before going down to Asheville.

RACER X 09-04-2009 11:17 AM

how long to get deals gap from greensboro?

~263mi

sounds like i need to head that way.

unforn. won't be able to spend to much time there.

Trip 09-04-2009 11:22 AM

yeah, but you still get to check it out. Make sure you take 28 from 74 through fontana, don't take 129 from 74.

Mr Lefty 09-04-2009 11:32 AM

looking at trip's map... it'll be faster to go down to birmingham, montogomery, down to Mobile... and over... rather than down through hattiesburg. just fyi

It's not. It's faster to go to hattiesburg. I have tried both on my way to New Orleans. Now if he wanted to visit you, he could go that route.

RACER X 09-04-2009 11:36 AM

cool, good to know.

depends on what time you go through... it's 10 min faster to go through hattiesburg from your place to mine... BUT through hattiesburg and after you have lots of lights. not so the other way.

I am pretty sure he is taking interstate, so lights aren't an issue.

RACER X 09-04-2009 11:45 AM

yeah i plan to stay on I-state after deals gap, NOW.

Trip 09-04-2009 11:45 AM

BTW it's 697 miles through hattiesburg vs 753 through mobile from birmingham to richmond. It's a 50 mile difference. Plus you don't have much city traffic through hattiesburg.

Are you trying to go to his house or yours?

Mr Lefty 09-04-2009 11:46 AM

ahh didn't see that 59 runs south out of hattiesburg... as I would take hwy 49

yeah that would be faster

oh ok, yeah 59 takes me to almost New Orleans never leaving the interstate, meets up with I-10.

Dude...the WERA nationals are at Barber that weekend, and we'll be there. :D Make Birmingham a planned stop on Sunday. :) As far as the Gap goes, Troy will know all the routes and all the good roads.

Particle Man 09-08-2009 11:07 AM

Barber (Glad Trip recommended it when I was in shitville, it was freakin' awesome).

Clay 09-08-2009 01:51 PM

Depending on how you could back, it could be on the way. Stop off for a few hours, enjoy some awesome racing, then hit the road again. Come over into the paddock and hang out and I'll have a cold water or coke for ya. :)

RACER X 09-08-2009 01:59 PM
