Chatterbox buy feeler

I contacted Chatterbox... asking about a group buy... they came back and said they'd be more than happy to setup something for us.

I figured that not all of us would want the same model as there's three different models. vote for the one you want...

They said to find out how many orders for each model and they'd come back with prices... this doe not lock you into a purchase.. but please only vote if you're truely intrested in buying one.

I'll close this and send in the numbers in March (depends on my internet access when)

Cutty72 01-29-2009 09:01 PM

how can both choice 3 and 4 be their most powerful model? :idk:

Cause it's the same exact one, only one has Bluetooth.

For me the Bluetooth isn't worth the extra money... Option number two is more than what I need, but the additonal channels make it the best option for me... Extra channels = more ability to hide from other people.

Trip 01-29-2009 09:31 PM

Bluetooth is money if you have a gps or phone that's a mp3 player too or all three like an iphone or storm.

Sixxxxer 01-29-2009 09:33 PM

Choice 2 Price depending...

The only one that doesn't have multiple inputs for those devices is option 1. Personally paying that much extra to go wire-free just isn't worth it. Now, if I had more cash to toss around... I'd probably spend the extra money.

dReWpY 01-29-2009 09:48 PM

lets post this shit on every board we are on and try to get some big numbers in to drop the price

I would assume that Chatterbox will provide the terms and what sort of discounts they'd be willing to provide based upon quantity.

dReWpY 01-29-2009 10:24 PM

yeah, more volume, lower price is my guess how this works

the only issue is with the wire(s) you have to disconnect them when you get off the bike or take off your helmet (if you have the wire(s) run through your jacket) my head phones were annoying enough at every gas station having my ipod in my tank bag... more than once I pulled my ipod out an on to the ground because I forgot.

my #1 reason for getting it is the blue tooth capibility... to go wireless for my music and possibly GPS.

Yeah I'll check with them tonight... say that people are unsure what they want... the price dictates what model they want

let ya know what they say

Well Ebbs... I'm not a dumbass, so I don't think I'll have to worry much about that.

Ask for various tiers... What sort of discount would you provide on each model if we bought 20, 15, 10, etc? Would the discount apply to us only buying one particular model, or can we go with a mix?

ok... will do. :dthumb:

derf 01-30-2009 12:07 AM

2 for #2

z06boy 01-30-2009 09:41 AM

Depending on price I may be interested in 2 or 3 of the # 2 version.

I wouldn't rule out getting the # 3 version since it's stronger but voted for # 2.

Mr Lefty 02-02-2009 11:26 PM

Quote:

10 OR MORE TOTAL and I can give the following prices.
You can mix and match so long as it's at least 10 total.

Please do not go around comparing my prices to any of my dealers.
I am just trying to help you guys out and my dealers would not appreciate me competing with them.
I can promise that you won't get these any cheaper.

X1 Bluetooth $ 260 each
X1 regular $ 200 each
X2 $ 150 each

Feel free to let me know what you think.

wow... AWESOME Prices... wait... aren't those the same prices as here?

http://www.chatterboxusa.com/cbx1btunit.html

I replied back asking :wtf:

JARVIS518 02-02-2009 11:35 PM

so much for not comparing prices looks like we arnt going to get that deal

:lol::lol:

OneSickPsycho 02-03-2009 12:01 AM

www.motorcyclesuperstore.com has them at 25% off...

Mr Lefty 02-03-2009 12:53 AM

yeah I saw that... fuck'n retarded that he throws it up as a discount and it's the MSRP...

Mr Lefty 02-03-2009 12:55 AM

ok... wtf... chatterbox says the MSRP of the X1Bluetooth is 260... the guy says he can offer them at 260... motorcycle superstore says regular 399 on sale for 299...

Quick281 02-03-2009 02:32 AM

pwnt?

Mr Lefty 02-03-2009 02:34 AM

yeah I dunno... but no way in hell am I paying over MSRP for the fuck'n thing. $260 is high imo... $400 is recockulous!

OneSickPsycho 02-03-2009 08:55 PM

I think it's time to start firebombing motorcycle shops...

Mr Lefty 02-03-2009 11:31 PM

I got a reply... turns out the 260 that chatterbox's web page is for the unit only.... it's 400 for the unit with all the wiring for a full face helmet.

so there it's a fuck'n bad ass discount.

Quote:

The prices you are looking at on the site are for the unit only all by itself.

The prices I am quoting you are for the entire kit either full or open face.
Do me a favor and click on where it says "full or open face kit".

Here are the retail prices:

X1 Bluetooth $ 260 each (retail $400)
X1 regular $ 200 each ($ 330)
X2 $ 150 each ($280)

so not bad if we can get 10 people interested...

JARVIS518 02-03-2009 11:59 PM

still considering 2 for number 2

has anyone tried these with a motocross style type of helmet? does the wind affect it a lot?

Mr Lefty 02-04-2009 02:27 AM

I've heard the wind will fuck with it if you've got it on the mode where you just talk. so they say if your doing an open face helmet you're pretty much stuck wth push to talk mode.

I'm still interested... but I'm gonna have to wait till begining of April.

Dnyce 02-04-2009 03:39 AM

still dont know if i wana pay the extra 60 for bluetooth, but im in
