I don't believe that there's any mechanical difference between a 2007 600rr and a 2012 model. can anybody confirm this?

I dont think they have done a massive upgrade, but they have done some minor tweaks.

actually they made a major engine change in 08 or 09, improving the low-end

Honda has pretty much done similar changes in the engine. Its not completely the same.

Its still a very similar power plant to the 07 like the r6.

So minor engine tweaks. My guess is that most will probably be mapping within the ECU and tweaking the cylinder head. Honda hasn't done a major model update (with the exception of the ABS option) since the gen 2 600rr came out in 07. If all this is true, then most bits "should" be interchangeable between the years.

Check the '07 part numbers against the '12 part numbers, and you'll have your answer.
