bid online. All the bikes are fairly high mileage though over 100k. I'm bidding

And the ones I checked out have had the instruments replaced and the odometers readings are inaccurate. I think that means a salvage title in most (or all?) states. For a couple grand they would be a pretty smoking deal though.

Enough mileage that you won't get laughed at when you show up to BMW meets

I set a fairly low max bid, with no expectations, I'll go back right before it ends and possibly bid a little extra and see if I can win. Really though, I wouldnt want to spend more than $1500 even if the bikes are worth more than that.

Still not enough

I'd totally rock one, but I think shipping would double the amount I spent on the bike.

I may be the only one on the board with a BMW R11xx bike.

It's amazing, no doubt! If you're remotely interested in riding distance, or doing serious touring, this is the bike to have.

Fred, mine has 38k and I get laughed at. My Hayabusa has 75k, I get a few more props for that. lol

Sean, I'll bet a plane ticket is cheaper than shipping. ;)

Thats exactly what I was thinking, a 1 way trip to anywhere in that area with a liscense plate and some riding gear in tow, be home in 2 days

I bumped into a guy a few weeks back that had a 2004 with almost 300k on it and he said he was starting to have problems, then he said he was kicking himself in the ass for not keeping up with the maintenance or it would be in much better shape

True. But, by the time I find time for such shenanigans, they will be long gone.
