While most cars at SEMA can be considered custom, there were a few that completely took us aback with their genuine rarity. These are the rides you'll most likely see in a museum, at the track, or in a collector's private stash.

Pirelli Tires Pagani Zonda R

From any angle, this Zonda R is a work of art. The detail in construction is unheard of, with every piece fitting perfectly with full functionality and attractive aesthetics infused into their DNA. It's No. 1 of a handful of Zonda R's prepared only for circuit duty. And fittingly, it's owned by Horacio Pagani himself, who was present at SEMA.

After speaking with the Pirelli tire managers, we found out that Pagani himself checked out his car's display and immediately told the crew to remove its engine cover. Indeed, AMG's hand-built 750-hp 6.0 L V-12 is a thing of beauty itself.

Falken Tire Porsche 911 GT3 RSR

It's mean, bright green, and packs one powerful Zuffenhausen punch. You can find this Porsche fighting for the win in the GT2 class of the competitive American Le Mans Series.

HRE Wheels Devon GTX

Should the 650-hp 8.4L V-10 not catch your attention, its modernistic body lines surely will. HRE Wheels produced the attractive single piece center-locking forged wheels designed for optimal looks and supreme performance.

Tom Walkinshaw Racing Jaguar XJ220 S

Only nine TWR modified XJ220 Ss were constructed in 1993, with six of them becoming dedicated road cars. This particular edition, #784, is one of the few still roaming the streets in the U.S. Its current owner slapped on custom Fikse modular wheels, painted it black, and retrofitted Infiniti projector headlights.

Unlike regular XJ220s, TWR replaced the aluminum body panels with carbon fiber renditions and deleted the stereo, air conditioning and regular seats for some weight loss. Packing a modified 680 hp and 526 lb-ft of torque, the XJ220 S reportedly hits 60 mph from a standstill in 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of 228 mph.

Gumpert Apollo

The Apollo is arguably in the same uber car realm as the Pagani Zonda R. Its aggressive looking, wide, and of course, powerful and fast. Handbuilt in Germany, it's a shame this edition was somewhat hidden in a small booth.

Plethore HTT

If you're wondering what in the world this is, a few of our staffers were too. It's called the HTT by Plethore and features a full carbon fiber body, an in-house designed 750-hp 6.2L V-8, and a McLaren F1-like central driving position. Production is underway in Canada and it retails in the range of $325,000.

Honorable Mention: HRE Wheels Porsche Panamera Turbo

Surprisingly, only the team at HRE brought out a brand new Porsche Panamera. Sporting the brand's iconic forged Monoblok M40 wheels in 21-in. diameter, this Turbo was indeed as clean as they come.

OMG! look at that Carbon Fiber.............
