They said no

So, I want a dog.

My lease agreement with my landlords says "pets need to be approved". I emailed asking what their guidelines for pets were.

In Canada, according to the Tenant's Act, Landlords can't say no to pets as long as they're not a disturbance or danger.

But, my landlords said no. I don't want to push the issue because I like where I live but....

I really want a dog!!!!!!!!

Did they give you an explanation why they said no? Could you ask for one if they didn't give you one?

Press the issue, but do it in a 'nice' way without resorting to referring to the tenant act directly.

I hate dogs and I'm trying to think of the best way to get rid of my neigbors dog. The damn thing barks all day long and she goes away every weekend and it barks

Are you dealing with a lease company or an individual?

Seen it happen once was cool and scary at the same time since said dogs owner was in the other room at the time of the incident.
