Someone raised that way i don't believe has the ability to change, and if his choice is to die by Firing Squad So be it. I believe the reason he chose that method is to try and show people he has changed and realized that is the best way to pay back his debt the the families of the dearly departed but its just a big scam on his part.

Definitely less potential for screwups than the other methods, so I don't see why the "news" thinks it's so controversial.
