For my phone it depends on teh outside temp, if its cold out then yes it works fine, if its hot out then I have to hold my finger o the screen for a moment for it to work. And thats with gloves on

I can on my phone, but its not very responsive. I have heard though that other phones dont respond well to touch through a layer of plastic. Its the type of 'sense' (by heat or pressure or other)...

I went and bought a couple of these plugs from walmart. They fit into a standard 12v cig outlet, then wire up a cig outlet on your bike. Gasman has the same setup.
