I just saw a wonderful photo in Fast Bikes this month of what happened to a guy who's MC drug over his foot some distance. Gnarly.
Granted I take into account what I am doing. I am guilty of commuting in Helmet, Jacket, Gloves with Docker pants begging for Karma to skin me like a  .
I have done touring in the above with jeans and boots, risking some abrasion but trying to hedge my bet by keeping my pace down to 70% of my limit.
If I am forseeing any form of testerone and adrenaline riding I have the leathers and back protector and my best helmet. |
Good post BUT when you are "taking your chances" you don't consider yourself to be in "full gear" correct? That's my only point,I don't think anyone thinks flip flops and a skull cap with a dot sticker on it is full gear but I've worn that to go to the beach in Daytona.
