That's just ludacris to think about that people got that uninterested in going to the moon that fast. I didn't agree with everything JFK did, but he really pushed us as far as stretching our goals as humans and Americans in the technological sense. We need another leader with that frame of mind to get NASA off their ass. I doubt anything like that will happen til we get some kind of recovery going though.

That sort of thing could be used to help
spur recovery. There are no leaders left though; just politicians.
