I'm torn between the two because I respect Nick's opinion about the Sena BUT the Scala has a wired mic-much better for full face. The Sena offers this for another $40 ea. The Scala also claims a one mile working range vs the Sena's 1/2 mile. Plus the Scala includes a FM radio built in. I've already ordered BT dongles for my GPS and radar detector...  It's a tough call but I have some time to think. One good thing is that Ron Ayers carries the Scala, so I might try it out and if I don't like it I can return it no problem and buy the Sena.
FWIW anything similar from J&M would cost about $700 not including the $200 ea headsets that I already have!!!!!!!!

I would need one of these just to get back to having my GPS(Garmin 855T) and radar detector(Valentine 1) hooked up. Basically, this replaces my current unit $300.

She should be able to use a dongle for her radar detector (Escort Passport 8500) and her phone is BT. If I rewire my radar detector(V1) back to stock, I guess that I could also use dongles for it and my GPS but I would be VERY nervous!!! One positive aspect is that both the Scala and Sena units come with 3.5mm jacks that I could plug my V1 in to for added piece of mind. |

yeah the sena new model enabling the use of FRS radio's is the way I'm going...
