It's a rack of batteries. I wish that I'd been able to get into the garage where the TTX GP bikes were housed, because it would have been great to get some shots under the bodywork.

I think that one had two synchronized electric motors. The first day that I was there and saw them practice, I could hear that bike coming out of the previous corner. Seems that the motors were out of sync and it was running hot. The next day I couldn't hear it at all, until it was almost right in front of me.

There were only 5 of them; each with a different take on the tech. One was built on an old Norton. Another had a TZ250 frame and running gear. Another was built with two electric motors that had been rebuilt from that car in the documentary "Who Killed the Electric Car."

Seeing just five of them race wasn't very impressive, except intellectually. They were hoping for double that number and have had 12 in a single race. Now THAT would be a sight
