All you F4i junkies....
So I've been trying to talk myself out of buying that leftover 08 zx I really want. Mostly because I'm still uncertain about whether I will get this consultant job or not. But also because its a smart move. I can always pick up an 08 for much cheaper in a year or two.
So i've moved on to a couple used bikes around town that I can pick up for about $3500, or cheaper. A 2002 Honda F4i and a 2005 Kawi ZZR600. Both have a bunch of extras, and look very clean... with the ZZR being the cleanest. What does everybody think of the pre-2003 F4i??? Cuz thats definitely the way I'm leaning...

I know of one person who had put his down pretty hard (read: full rear wheel lock at 80 plus = lowside) and just had to replace the clutch cover, tires, and fairing.

I've got one. Great bike! I'm selling mine because I just needed something different, but they are great bikes.

But yeh thirdgen did 140xxx miles on his bike before he lowsided into a curb, I have no doubt that his bike if he kept maintaining it the way he was could have just kept going and going and going. The real downside to the f4i is the stupid banana seat they put on, it looked much better as a separate pillion seat. Anyway awesome bike all around, not as track focused as the RR, but it is more comfortable. The big advantage that I think it has over the ZZR (ZZR is IMHO slightly more comfy) is the fuel injection. Oh yeh and the pre-05 ZZR is ugly as sin.

But yea the ZZR is nice. My buddy had one, it was comfortable. Specfuckingtacular headlights too. The only thing that is pushing me toward the F4i is the FI. I had to deal with junked up carbs on my R6, and it just pissed me off.

as I recall, thirdgenlxi's F4i had 177K when he totalled it, not 140k.
