I think vans are gay even if Porsche makes them...But Porsche did throw some engineering to VW for a cool Camry fighter

Porsche can do the mid-engine thing just fine.
Leaky? Deathtraps? Apart from the boxter and cayene, I've heard nothing but good reviews about Porsche reliability if you service them regularly. Safety is on par with other supercars and they're handling is pretty legendary, especially in the last decade or so.
