either look pretty with all HID's and run the risk of one of them burning out... or run one of each if you are worried about it.

Personally, I don't think the risk of a ballast going out is any greater than that of a regular bulb burning out.

Or do as I already posted that I'm planning - install the HID's, but retain the stock plugs & stash a halogen bulb so that if somehow the system fails I can still throw in a bulb & have lights. I'm not 'worried' about it & if anything, I think there's less chance of the HIDs failing than the halogen burning out - but I won't be able to buy a HID bulb on the road & like to plan ahead for contingencies.

And for me it's not about 'looking pretty' nearly so much as it's about improving the light output (without an irregular pattern).

Thanks for that. May have to order a set. I'm going to be running 3 HID bulbs and therefore 3 ballasts. One headlight and two spot lights. I think running the headlight H4 (hi/lo combo) on one relay, then the other 2 ballasts on another relay.

So next question... anybody got a good recommendation for a water proof fuse block for all of this? Maybe I should just run a larger gauge wire to the front of the bike... then fuse off each of those seperately there. Maybe a car stereo fuse block and some larger gauge wire...hmmmm

In the fairing wouldn't need to be water proof.

I ordered & plan to use the '3-circuit solution' for both my bikes (1 under seat, 1 up front) for the HIDs & other accessories.
By far the most sealed/compact/cost-effective thing I found. Only drawback is you would need an open-barrel crimper (not a bad thing to have for OE-style connectors anyway, can be had for ~$30).
That fuse block he sells is a great item too, if you need all-in-one.
