Now one of us (probably me) has to stay home from work and take care of her. I'm bouncing between pissed off and feeling sorry for her. I lean more toward pissed off. That's just what I need in today's economy, to have to tell my boss I can't come in to work. I can work from home, to a point, so that takes some of the sting out of it.

My thoughts exactly. It's not fun learning the hard way but sometimes it's the only way.

She says she's done riding. Anyone need CT90K5 parts? I haven't seen the bike yet.

Glad you're mom is OK! She sounds like my mom - who knows EVERYTHING... Glad she wasn't hurt though. Kids know things sometimes don't they?

Jtemple,

1. She's still alive and kicking without any loss of limbs.
2. You'll get to say, "I told you so."

Yes. she is very lucky, in my opinion. I'm going to save the "I told you so" for later

I do a lot of short commuting in a helmet, gloves, jacket, jeans and heavy work boots. I think I might just wear my leathers all the time after this. They wouldn't save my knee, but at least I wouldn't have a bunch of road rash to go with it.

My grandmother, who is still pretty young and mobile yet, and retired, has volunteered to live with her until she's good enough to be on her own. That will help out a lot. My wife (like my mom) is a teacher. She can help out quite a bit on summer break.
