That would have been a huge puppy. My lab was maybe 2 lbs at the most when she was born.

He sheds more than I was hoping he would since he's an inside dog but if you'll keep him brushed it isn't so bad now. He doesn't seem to shed as much as when we first brought him home either which is a good thing.

The Akita is what I wanted before buying our current home in a residential neighborhood. We started to buy out in the country with more outside room but since we didn't we got the Akita's "mini-me"...the Shiba Inu. They are both from Japan.

The breeders that we bought him from bred Akita's and Shiba's.
