I hate to defend the guy, ruining a car like that, but I did something very similar a few years ago.

Yeah something doesn't seem right with that story if you look at the road from the video. There seems like plenty of room to spin out on a straight road. I could see if it was a curve and he went straight off. Unless I am missing something I can't see his story being anywhere close to the truth.

Yeah but yours water hole is in the road and I'm sure you seen it and wanted to attempt it. Looking at that video that guy had to do some fucked up shit to end up at that angle and in that far.
