I guess because of the thinner air, you can use a lower octane? interesting....
regular unleaded is 4.17 a gallon here. but that E85 shit is 2.99..... kinda makes me wish i would have got a truck that could burn that shit. |

if your truck is relatively new, maybe you can use e85, without much hassle. i know alota hotrod guys said they had to change their tune up alil-its higher octane, but its also ethanol. check it out....

if its old, you're gonna have problems with fuel line, tank, and probably pump failures, cuz of the dif chemicals....on a new car, i dont think u have to actually "tune" for it, just have to make sure the e85 doesnt destroy everything on its way to the engine.
i could totally be wrong, so go check it out b4 u hit the pump ive heard of ppl converting their cars to biodiesel, and then making the shit in their backyard. any1 heard of that?

first, yes, lower octane in higher elevations. ie my cousin lives in utah, they have 85, 88, and 91 octane.
E85 is 105 octane E85 is also a lot cheaper, but you will burn more. A vehicle that gets 25 mpg buring 89 octane fuel, will get about 18 mpg under the same conditions burning E85. A lot of hot rodders and racers to retune the cars to run E85, as the loss in efficiency for them is not that big of deal. |
