We had a Buell blow up at Mid-Ohio last year during a track days. Spilled oil at the end of the back straight and 6 people crashed because of it.

BAH! No biggie, I've ridden tracks in sub 40 degree temps.

Just wait three laps for your tires to come up to temp instead of 1 or 2, stay loose on the bars & listen to what your tires are tellin ya.

Unfortunatley theres always the yahoos who dont heed that advice, I had 2 rather cold days last year one at summit and the other at NJMP, what I didn tlike was having to layer up underneath to stay warm sort of hindered my movements a bit. Not the worst thing in the world but was annoying.

Yup, I hear ya. The cold definitely brings on more crashes.

Shit, two of our VERY experienced track day staff went down at our last NJMP event in October & attributed it mainly to cold tires... but it's not like it poses a significant danger or anything.

They said they'll give you the option to ride... I'd still ride. But I'd ride to the conditions.

Same goes for the rain... crashes are more likely but I'm still out there slip slidin away

Riding in adverse conditions improves your skillset.

I prolly would too, I will take the cold over rain any day.
