Damn, just saw this.....
Guess that removes the common wisdom of "That dude's older and has hardcases, so he's a real rider"

I agree. Since the photo set up shop on "The Snake" people are a) riding that stretch of road way more often and b) there seems to be a ton more accidents there. I'm not blaming him specifically--there's no way to get real data on it--but it sure seems like everything blew up soon after he set up shop and stayed that way.

I doubt it... those guys are ALWAYS in the turns and have seen their fair share of wrecks... They are part of that community and know a lot of the riders personally, some of them even ride IIRC. I can't imagine them doing something like that which would endanger people like that...

Sounds like someone with an axe to grind or someone making excuses for their own lack of judgment.

Here I am struggling to find places\times to ride where there aren't other folks out on the road able to see what I'm doing or slow up traffic.
Others ride so they can fill up there glamor shots album..
cheesecake is delicious but makes me fart

In the original the photographer waved first but then in the re-release they edited it so the rider waved first.
They should have just left it alone

LOL, no, the photog's only wave at friends, not random tourists that have only been riding for three weeks. Yes, this guy had only been riding that motorcycle for 3 weeks and decided to take a trip to one of the most technical roads in the USA.
