Any sportbike made in the last 20 years will do just fine.

Unless you could qualify for an AMA national, you will probably not be any faster on a new GSXR600 than on a 1997 GSXR600.

Save the coin and buy an older beater. Old bikes need love too.

Dont want to go too much older as parts can become scarce, esp if you need to borrow or buy something while at the track.

You can find a slightly older fully prepped track bike for around 3k.

No, stock suspension and power haven't changed in the last 12 years.

Define cheap.

There's a guy here with a 05 R1 3K miles, salvage title but repaired: $3500
Another with an 02 Sv650, 8k miles, salvage title but repaired, $1800 bucks....

Look for insurance bike auctions and buy back a totaled bike.

You could have bought my 08 gsxr 750 with 3000 miles last Nov for $2500. Another $2500-$3000 in plastics, exhaust, front rim, and rear sets you'd have a near new bad ass track bike for around $5k Would have been scrap title though.

Figure 8-900 plus a thousand for repairs/upgrades...real cheap v-twin track bike.

There are a bazillion bikes out there that would make good track mules....depends on your budget and tastes.....

that 600 would work for me it already has my # on it

another thing is how much money/work someone wants to put into it. For some its easier to get something thats already track ready.
