Except CA isn't a shithole, lol
The only legit reason for not wanting to live in CA is the high cost of living.......Or maybe the gun laws........ But that's about it. Yeah, I know people always say they wouldn't be able to tolerate CA's pinko politics, but that doesn't matter as much as people think. CA isn't just pinko San Francisco or Hollywood, there are plenty of small towns and farming/ranching areas too. Last edited by Homeslice; 12-03-2010 at 12:01 AM.. |

That isn't as common here as people think. Sure, there are smog checks here, but most of the garages that perform them are staffed by young Asians who don't give a crap. And sure, if the cops catch a bunch of street racers, they will write a bunch of fix-it tickets (assuming they don't impound their whole car). But if you just get pulled over for simple speeding, you're not going to get a ticket for your aftermarket exhaust. The vast majority of cops don't bother, because they know they aren't qualified to determine whether an exhaust is illegal. Legally they would need to prove it exceeds the sound limit, and that the cat converter had been removed. Just seeing an Akrapovic badge on it doesn't prove that it's illegal. Sure, 99.999% of the time it is, but they can't prove it without looking up part numbers, making phone calls, or measuring the decibels.

I say it sucks to be all of us getting a peak at America's future...
More to the story? Seriously? Unless he actually shot at someone, raped someone, did a little armed robbery or something of the sort then no, there is no more to the story. This guy is going to do 7 years in prison for guns that were legally purchased and sitting in his trunk. More to the story....wtf guys?

I initially agreed with Fred. Legally purchased is all well and good. He would have had no probelms with his legally purchased guns in CO. Since he is in NJ, he needs to abide by their rules. Their rules state: NO firearm possesion in your car. He broke the rules. Play the "It's not fair, he was moving!" card all you want. He wasn't moving to his new house when the cops searched his car, he had gone out for a drive to "cool off". The dude had guns in his car in a state in which that is illegal. Don't like it: change the rules.
