Default Passing Zones

This is kind of cage related but also bike related, so mods move as you see fit.

On my way to my race (5K) Saturday I realized there are less places to pass on this one particular road because when we take the bikes down this road, there seem to be more.

I got behind some slower cars, thought to myself I can pass up here... yeah, no I can't. No passing zone...

Anyone ever have the same experience? It was very frustrating to say the least.

Yes, pass as needed, passing zones are made for the slowest common denominator, aka, a very very slow car. Just be prepared when crossing the double yellow to pay the fine if you get cought and I dont want to hear if you get killed.

I pay no attention to the yellow lines. If the move is there, I take it.

I usually pass right on the double yellow or even between the cars going in opposite directions on the double yellow. This way you cannot get tagged passing in the opposite lane.

I guess I should have been a little more clear. Some of the LEGAL passing zones on this road are pretty short, especially when in a car. But when on the bike they seem to be much longer, therefore it seems like there are more.

I could never do that here. I would be too afraid the douche bag I'm passing would drift over into me.

you are also on a much smaller, lighter vehicle with a pretty crazy power to weight ratio, especially compared to a car

pass legal or not, doesn't matter too much to me, just don't complain if it doesnt work out

Then you just drift over the other way.

The cops here look for double yellow violators...so if you ride the line or stay in the lane while passing you are safe.
