I wonder how many customers Ducati has lost with the incredible loss in resale value in the xx9 series. That bike is $15k+ invested and the owner can't give it away now.

Agreed. My brother has an 05 999S that he paid $25k for and I've seen them for $8500

Me too. The 999 is my all time favorite Duc.

Which is too bad because I actually like it better than the 1098. The front end of the 1098 looks too much like other bikes. Also you see 2-3 of them at every single bike night.
