Had to Google that... yeah, no shit you can't justify the cost. I mean, if I were working security guarding Tom Hanks from Somali pirates... maybe.
Seems like the point of entry for the AR10 is around $1,200... I don't need anything particularly fancy. I don't want to go full retard with the tactical shit either... some sights, a bipod, and be done with it. |

Unless you want to get stupid $$$$ and go .338 Lapua the AR-10 will be a very good choice for the money. For many of the same reasons as AR-15.
Just don't get a 16" barrel. That's really too short for 100+ yard accuracy. You'll want an 18"+ preferably heavy or bull.

The neighbor just picked up a Remington 1911R1

That is sharp! I think it would have looked even better had they kept the line on the slide extension rather than curving it like that. Oh to have money!
