Default Bmw s 1000 rr

So i've read, this thing is comming standard with ohlins front springs, brembo stoppers, and the works, and is only supposed to retail a grand or so over the hyped up gixxers and cbrs of 2k9...

a new alternative to the duc? Bmw has made a name for itself making incredible bikes in other situations (enduro, dual sport, etc) can it keep up with the race bike craze?

cant wait to see it at the bike show.

also look out for Ape'gorrilia this spring. rsv4 is supposed to milk the teets of field mice when it comes to standard track operation.

They're fucked if they haven't fixed the screwed up air/idle stepper issue present in all of the other Transverse K's, not to mention finding a way to make a clutch basket last more than 24K miles...

Hopefully they'll have the sense to make it chain drive, not shaft or belt...

That Beemers gonna have quite a price tag when it gets stateside...

I like the testing times, Ben Spies is looking good. Have I mentioned I endurance raced with the CMRA while Ben was honing his craft? My claim to fame...

I am really not so concerned with the outright times for now after all it is testing and not racing...The spread of a little over 2 seconds from first to 13th is pretty telling of the competition and the parity though...

I hope the BMW is competitive next year.

Where did you get that info for the MSRP on the S1000r? Seems very low to me.

Those times mean nothing, those bikes are far from stock. However the stock yamaha and hondas don't come with brembo and ohlins goodies. I don't see these bikes being that cheap. I may have to get a liter bike if they are that cheap.

Some 08 ZX 10s here in NWAR selling at $8999 I think I could kill myself on one of them as easily as a $29,000 BMW or $15,000 Ducati

well when both bikes got mentioned i assumed we were gonna talk about wsbk, specially since thats the only reason the s1000rr exists
