Allergic to Hops....ain't this a bitch?

FML.

Earlier this year I suddenly developed an allergy to my favorite type of food: Shellfish. Never had a problem, could always eat it by the ton...then BAM!! Sick as a motherfucker, hives, the whole 9 yards. Never been allergic to any food or medicine in my life.

Couple of nights ago, I'm having dinner, drinking a Hoptober...wake up at 3am BAM BAM BAM! Sickest I've been in years. Wife was actually trying to get me to go to the hospital...thought I was going to Jimi Hendrix on her.

WTF? If I'm going to become allergic to everything I love it could at least be spaced out a bit. You guys develop any allergies in adulthood?

Are you sure it's the Hops. There are so many elements to the beer it's possible it's another ingredient. A friend of ours can't drink 3 philosophers

My mother is allergic to fertilizer. If it gets within 20 feet of her she starts getting short of breath. If she doesn't get away from it, it gets really bad. That shit is nasty stuff. This only started a few years ago. Before that she didn't have a problem.
