Default How much faster are you on roads you know vs unknown roads?

Something I was thinking about during my ride today. How much faster are you on the roads you know versus those you don't? Do you leave yourself a large margin for error on roads you don't know and do you continue to push it?

Cold molasses on an unknown road.
Room temperature molasses on a known road.

Most of the roads around me suck.. they desperately need to be repaved. So even on roads I'm familiar with I tend to take it easy.

I take it easy everywhere, unless I can see all the way through the corner.

I definatly go easier on unknown roads. A little faster if someone that knows the road is leading so I can watch their line etc, but still not all out.

Ha that's what I was thinking too! It also depends on how much I trust the person leading.

Yep gotta be careful, when I follow my friend Travis I have to constantly remind myself not to allow him to suck me into a curve because he's so fast, I can't judge a curve based on his speed cause he is not "human" on two wheels, dude is a machine.
