Ford Focus......Very good steering and handling, it has always been Ford's best all-around car, and the best small car America has ever produced in my opinion. The Cavalier and Neon were crap in comparison.

I don't know about best all around but I was impressed driving in the Focus.
I just had to make sure I did not pay close attention to the interior.

I've had several as rentals (I got stuck with like 10 in a row at one point ). I agree it's a pretty decent car for what it is (one of the most boring cars on the planet) but it had acceptable power and was middle of the road for comfort.

How did you like the blind spots on that hunk of shit?

Avis gave me one of those once and I wish I never drove off the lot in it. It was a week of driving Hell. They have a note on my account to never give me an HHR again.

Felt the same way about the Caliber. Never understood the appeal of a car with 12-inch thick pillars.

2008 Cobalt 4000 miles on it

Heater made grinding noises

Engine sounded like it was going to implode when passing

Cheapness in the interior everywhere that stares you in the face

Mark and I went to this huge Corvette get together in Kentucky a few years back...we are walking through the lot to pick up our rental and the whole time I was saying to myself "please no" "anything but that one" "it can't be" "oh no"...then we get to the parking space and sure enough...

Not only did we have to spend the week looking at vette we could not drive but we had to deal with that! If I had to describe it in one word: Cheap. Plus the fucking wing was awful! I could not see very well out of the rear view mirror because it blocked most of it.
