Default The Double Yellow line: Do you or not?

Under what conditions "if any" do you pass when you have a double yellow line?

If I can see a clear line, I'm passing.

If it's clear, I'm going for it.

If I have given the car a chance to pull over and they have not. I will pass on the double yellow if it is clear and not a major curve ahead. I also do not make overly rushed passes.

Cars here never pull over for bikes. Therefore we all have to be dicks back and be at 100 by the time we pass the driver's seat.

Lines painted on the road are not a factor in my choice of lines or passing maneuvers. My choices are based on the capabilities of myself, my vehicle, and intimate knowledge of my environment.

if I can see it's clear or if Louie tells me it's clear on the autocomm. I'm sure there's a wide group of people out there who had to replace their soiled driver's seat because I passed them on a blind curve without them knowing that I KNEW there was no oncoming traffic.

I rarely go over the double yellows in the canyons. I just use the cars lane or ride the line to pass. You only need 30 inches to clear. Passing between two oncoming opposing cars is also no problem as long as they are not towing anything.

as long as I can see, I go... but I'm much more cautious about that choice... and when I go... I GO.

Eh.......If it's a single lane each direction, I just cross the yellow......That way I dont' have to worry about pissing off his little ego because I split the lane right next to his window.
